“Made for Chompies, by Chompies.”
    —Game description

Chompy Bot 9000s are enemies in Skylanders: Giants. Chompies. These giant, tan-colored machines resemble Chompies with sharp metal teeth, which are in turn piloted by large Red Chompies. The machines' arms are made up of large cannons used to fire live Chompies at Skylanders. Due to their size and strength, these enemies are tough to take down.

Chompy Bot 9000s have two attacks. First, they can lock themselves in place while hovering their cannons above them, firing a horde of Chompies at the Skylanders. The normal green Chompies die after being fired, but the red variants attack on their own once grounded. After a short while, the cannons will overheat, leaving the Chompy Bot 9000 vulnerable for a short time. The Chompy Bot's secondary attack, a vicious stomp, is very dangerous. This attack only triggers if a Skylander gets too close to a Chompy Bot or when a Skylander tries to attack from a non-frontal angle.

When defeated, the Chompy Bot 9000 will malfunction and then explode, releasing hordes of both green and red Chompies in small hordes. These Chompies, along with the big red Chompy pilot, will attack like normal Chompies and can be easily defeated.

Trivia

  • In the alpha versions of Giants, Chompy Bot 9000s had a completely different appearance. Originally, their color scheme was silver and green, with spray-painted white teeth and leafy shoulders.[1] In the final game, the leaves were removed and the color changed to bronze, and the teeth were replaced with sharp metal plating.
  • The Chompy Bot 9000 Skystone is the Skystone with the most variants.
    • Its last Skystone variant is the same as the Axecutioner Skystone.
  • The explosion when the Chompy Bot 9000 is defeated does not deal any damage.
  • The voice of a Chompy Bot 9000 is similar to a normal Chompy's, but rather deeper and robotic.
  • Oddly, whenever a Chompy Bot 9000 fires, the left cannon appears to be capable capable of firing Chompies.
    • Both cannons will overheat, despite the fact that the right cannon did not fire any Chompies at all.
  • Strange, Chompy Bot 9000s appear in Aerial Attack!, with the Chompy pilot and the Chompies fired being ghosts. The enemy itself doesn't fit with the theme of the level, as all enemies featured in the level do not use technology.
  • If you stand extremely close in front of some Chompy Bot 9000s, they will continue to use their cannon attack rather than stomping.
    • Though some Chompy Bots will shoot downward, these generally appear in arena battles and in the final fight of Troll Home Security.
