The SWAP Force, also known as the SWAP Force Skylanders, are a special group of Skylanders who have the ability to mix and match their abilities and powers. They made their debut in Skylanders: Swap Force.
During an epic battle, a brave group of Skylanders were caught in the eruption of a mystical volcano in the Cloudbreak Islands. The result blasted them apart and sent them to Earth. But the magic of the volcano gave these heroes a remarkable new power -- the ability to swap halves -- turning them into a special team known as the SWAP Force.

Trivia
- This team was originally named the ShapeShifters.
- This is the only special team of Skylanders to be entirely male. This is due to Vicarious Visions wanting to take a "gender neutral approach" to the SWAP Force so the swapping would make sense.[1]
- Only seven of the SWAP Force Skylanders appeared in the console storyline of Swap Force. However, in the Nintendo 3DS version's introduction, they switched out Freeze Blade with Rattle Shake.
- Wash Buckler is the only member of the SWAP Force to appear in Skylanders: Battlecast.
- In the Switch version of Imaginators, when you scan in a SWAP Force character, they will have none of their upgrades, but they will be at level 20, and they will have no gold. This is due to the Joy-Con only being able to scan the bottom half of the SWAP Force figures.
- They're the only Skylanders on the Switch version that cannot be deleted.
- Originally, the SWAP Force were going to have the ability to swap heads.[2]
- There were also several SWAP Force Skylanders that didn't make it into the final game, used for the game's initial pitch and kid testing. One of them was Krayken (who later became the core Skylander, Rip Tide), a dinosaur named Aftershock and Breezewing. They were all eventually scrapped as they did not fit the design philosophy of the series, had negative feedback during the first test, and were far too large.[3]
- However, Krayken and Breezewing do make a cameo in the Enchanted Elven Forest as swimming floats. Oddly, Breezewing has also been also seen in Spyro's Adventure development art, indicating she was passed around both developers.
- Interestingly enough, Aftershock would be a placeholder name for the Skylander, Fist Bump.[4]

- It is possible to cause a glitch in certain parts of Swap Force and catch a glimpse of the base debug SWAP Force, Template Template, replacing the current Skylander.[5]
- The name of Spy Rise's top half "Spy" is the shortest of all the SWAP Force's top halves, while the name of Boom Jet's bottom half "Jet" is the shortest of all the SWAP Force's bottom halves, each only have three letters.
