- “Rescue the trapped Mabu villagers from the big tornado.”
- —Chapter Subtitle
Shattered Island is the first chapter in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. Its village was home to a Mabu population before a freak tornado ravaged the town, though all of the villagers were evacuated to safety.
Description
Shattered Island is a large Mabu village built on grassy islands. Its cloudy sky carries a distinctive purple tone, and during the level, a massive tornado sends rocks hurtling through the sky. Various Mabu possessions can be seen scattered throughout the sky as their village is ripped apart.
Story
Hugo, the assistant of Master Eon, and Flynn the balloonist arrive at the village, where all of the Mabu inhabitants are evacuating due to a disaster causing rocks to be launched across the sky. Flynn drops Hugo off on an island, where Hugo anxiously waits for help that was said to come by Master Eon. At the insistence of Eon, the new Portal Master (the player) places a Skylander on the portal, sending them back to Skylands where Hugo informs them of the task of rescuing the remaining villagers.
The Skylander ventures across the village and assists the remaining Mabu. This includes helping Snuckles destroy a barrier with a cannon, helping Rizzo grab a key to unlock a gate, and helping Nort and Blobbers move a Turtle blocking the bridge. Soon, the Skylander encounters Flynn, who has discovered what is causing the island to shatter. The Skylander uses Bounce Pads to reach Flynn and witnesses a massive tornado up ahead. A massive rock launched by the tornado nearly hits the Skylander, who lands in a Chompy pit blocked by a Monster Gate. After defeating the Chompies, the Skylander runs into Blobbers again, who encourages them to rescue the royal family trapped in the ruins of the Mabu palace. Once the family is freed, the Skylander makes their way back to Hugo and Flynn as they escape on Flynn's balloon, moments before the tornado approaches and destroys the village completely.
